With the rapid evolution to 4G networks, engineering and operations departments within network operators have to ensure that both legacy and new systems are managed and optimized for optimal end user QoS. This is easier said than done.
Many believe SON networks will rapidly change the mobile network landscape. However, few operators are willing to give up total control of their networks to unproven technology, particularly when it could compromise QoS.
